Project Scheduling from Plan to Delivery

East Ridge Tracking Ltd: Project Planning and Scheduling Expertise

ERTL aims to fill the gap between project and programme management and cross-team delivery, providing a consultancy in supporting the scoping and building of project planning tools and schedules, and engaging with stakeholders throughout the delivery process to help take the intended goals of the project from concept to reality.

The firm has experience in defence, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, government infrastructure and IT projects, and is currently looking to expand into the nuclear power industry.

From the outset ERTL can work with clients to understand the outline of the project, its key stakeholders, expectations, budgetary constraints and limitations. Then, working in partnership, go through the initial drawing up of the end deliverables, and extracting from this all the sub-deliverables and dependencies required. Assumptions and constraints will also need documenting at this point. Once these are understood a full scoping of the tasks required to deliver each of the deliverables can be drawn up, and these tasks put into logical order with dependencies between them understood. The next stage is to flesh the tasks out with understanding the estimated durations and actual effort expected for each. Resourcing of each of them appropriately is then needed, which can then be used to map out resource requirements and expected labour costs. Throughout, any risks and issues affecting delivery will be captured, assessed, and where necessary, mitigation planning work added to deal with them.

Once in delivery, bespoke monitoring and tracking controls can be implemented by ERTL to support the project. This enables the update and maintenance of the project schedule, capture of key data around effort invested and achievements gained, and presentation of the data into a suitable format for wider review. From there a greater level of confidence can be provided as to progress, or alternatively, a clear view of the challenges preventing it, enabling remedial planning to take place.
